Activities in Zaragoza
If you are planning to spend a few days in Zaragoza, before or after the wedding, we suggest you a list of activities and places to visit during your stay.
Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar
No one can leave the city without visiting the Basilica del Pilar, one of the most beautiful temples in Spain and the most important place to see in Zaragoza.
The entrance to the Basilica del Pilar is free, but to access the tower, you will have to pay €5. To book your tickets, you can do it here (Torre ascensor del Pilar).
Stone bridge
From here you can get one of the best views of Zaragoza with the Ebro River and the Basilica del Pilar in the background.
We recommend you to visit it also when the sun sets to see the city illuminated.
Rosario de Cristal museum
This museum exhibits the 30 illuminated glass floats that parade in procession through the streets of Zaragoza during El Pilar festivities in October. The entrance costs €5.

Seo Cathedral
Very close to the Basilica del Pilar we find the Cathedral of El Salvador, built in the 12th century on the site of a former mosque.
On the outside, we can see the wall of the Chapel of San Miguel Arcángel, a Mudéjar construction, and inside the Gothic altarpiece and the main sacristy. The entrance fee is €7, and you can book it here (Catedral de la Seo).

Roman walls and Central Market of Zaragoza
In the heart of the city are the remains of the Roman Walls of the ancient city of Caesar Augusta. Right next to it, we find the Central Market of Zaragoza or Lanuza Market.
This iron and glass building is inspired by the Les Halles shopping center in Paris. There you will find a lot of food stalls, where you can enjoy tapas, cocktails, sweets... all typical of the area.
Aljaferia Palace
It is a few minutes walk from the center. It is known as the little Alhambra, and was built in the 11th century. Although it was badly damaged during the Spanish War of Independence, it was rebuilt at the end of the 20th century.
Inside you can visit the Golden Hall, the Mosque, the Throne Room... Today, the palace houses the Aragon Parliament.

El Tubo, Zaragoza's most animated area
No trip to Zaragoza is complete without trying the city's typical tapas.
To learn more about the tapas culture in the city of Zaragoza, head to the area of El Tubo, in the historical center of the city. These narrow streets are full of bars where you can try some of the best tapas in Zaragoza and as it is in the heart of the old city, you can then continue your tour of the city.
Parque Grande Jose Antonio Labordeta
The Parque Grande is a beautiful park dedicated to the writer Jose Antonio Labordeta. It is an ideal place for a walk because there you will find several fountains, monuments, gardens, cafés, kiosks, playgrounds... It is a bit far from the city center of Zaragoza, but you can get there by bus or tramway.
Bridge Pavilion
The Puente Pavilion was one of the main buildings at Expo 2008 in Zaragoza. Designed by the British-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, it connects the right bank of the river with the Expo site. Its plan is shaped like a gladiolus, it is covered and houses exhibitions on sustainable water management.
Caixa Forum
The ”la Caixa” Foundation has recovered buildings of great architectural interest in the country's main cities to turn them into cultural dissemination centers: a commitment to art and culture.
This avant-garde building, designed by the architect Carme Pinós, is one of the most modern buildings in the Aragonese capital.
Expo 2008 River Park
From June 14 to September 14, 2008, the Zaragoza Expo 2008 became a reality, with the participation of more than 100 countries.
The celebration of the 2008 International Water and Sustainable Development Exhibition was an event of extraordinary importance for the city of Zaragoza.
A year after the end of the exhibition, the Fluvial Park was reopened without the thematic squares, returning 290,000 square meters of green areas to Zaragoza.
The Zaragoza museum
The Museum of Zaragoza is a museum of the Autonomous Community of Aragon, ​​ located since 1908 in the Plaza de los Sitios.
It is the most extensive and representative museum center in the entire Aragonese territory. Its collections summarize history from Prehistory to the 20th century. The entrance is free.
The Patio of the Infanta
It's a Renaissance patio from the year 1550, located within the current headquarters of Ibercaja, on San Ignacio de Loyola street in Saragossa.
The Patio de la Infanta enclosure is made up of two spaces, one that corresponds to the monument itself and the other to a room for temporary exhibitions.

Touristic bus
In 90 minutes and 16 stops, you will tour the main avenues of Zaragoza. You will discover the Parque Grande José Antonio Labordeta, the Luis Buñuel Water Park and the Aljafería Palace. You will cross the Ebro River on four of its bridges, and you will be captivated by the panoramic view of the city.
With the same ticket, you can get on and off as many times as you want, for 24 hours.

The Beach of Zaragoza
If all you want is to sunbathe and enjoy the cool water, this is a very good alternative to the beach, without leaving the city.
Beaches with palm trees and white sand, with crystal-clear waters, thanks to careful filtering and cleaning of the river Ebro, with an area set up to enjoy the atmosphere and all the comfort.
The entrance costs 5€50, and you have to buy them directly there.
PUERTO VENECIA Shopping Center
The Puerto Venecia Shopping Resort has more than 200 brands where you can enjoy the best shopping. It is the largest Shopping Center in Spain and one of the largest in Europe.
The center has more than 40 restaurants with flavors from all over the world. It also has multiple outdoor activities, movie theaters, a games center, climbing areas, a navigable lake with boats and a "super wave" (a static surf wave).
